BornAgain wheels for Linux and Windows are available for Python 3.10–3.14. Use an isolated environment so that BornAgain and its dependencies do not modify the system Python installation.
No manual setup needed: uv automatically installs a script’s declared dependencies in an isolated environment for that script:
uv run my_script.py
To create an environment:
uv venv --python 3.14.5 path/to/venv
pyenv install 3.14.5
pyenv shell 3.14.5 # use this Python version in the current terminal
As for Vanilla Python, create an environment:
python -m venv path/to/venv
conda create --prefix path/to/env python=3.14.5 pip
python -m venv path/to/venv
